The Sunset Lounge is every Thursday evening at The Cannon, at 50 Newport Pagnell High Street. To find us, set your sat-nav to MK16 8AQ.
You’ll find us out the back. Go in through the front entrance and look for the corridor on your left. We’ll be in the big shed in front of you at the end of that corridor. The entrance will be around the side to the right.
To park behind The Cannon, turn onto Union Street from the high street. Union Street is the one-way street next to the Oxfam. The car park is down this road – look for this sign on your right.
On ‘lounge nights, the car park can fill up in a hurry. The nearest public car park with plenty of room is on Queen’s Avenue. This road is on a big roundabout next to the clock monument. Once on Queen’s Avenue, you’ll see the large parking area on your right just after the large building. Parking is free after 6pm.
From the M1
Driving from afar? Take the M1 to Junction 14 and take the A509 towards Newport Pagnell. (Turning left from the north, right from the south.)
Drive roughly 2¼ miles (3½ km), going straight-on at a number of roundabouts. You’ll reach a mini-roundabout just over a bridge where you can only go left or right. The pub in front of you is The Cannon where the Sunset Lounge is based. Turn left at this last roundabout and look for either the Oxfam or the clock monument, depending on where you want to park.
From the A5
Not a fan of motorways? Take the A5 into Milton Keynes and come off at the A422.
(The sign reads “A422” and “Milton Keynes North” from both directions.)
At the roundabout, take the turning towards Newport Pagnell. Drive for 4 miles (6½ km) and turn left, just after the Shell filling station, at Willen Road.
Drive along Willen Road, which later becomes Marsh End Road (you won’t see the join), for ¾ of a mile (1¼ km) until you reach a mini-roundabout with only a left and right turn. Turn right to join the Newport Pagnell High Street. Turn left at either the Oxfam shop or clock monument, depending on where you want to park.
